I and 750,000 other people from all walks of life marched today in Downtown L.A. in support of equal rights for all. Scroll down to see some of my favorite signs from the protest and the reason why I marched.
Today I marched because there is no room to sit down and stay silent about things that matter.
Today I marched because I come from a family of immigrants.
Today I marched because as a black latina woman, intersectionality is and always will be my reality.
Today I marched for the women in my family: past, present, and future.
Today I marched because I want to create a future that I’m proud of.
Today I marched for all the women, everywhere who can’t safely speak out.
Today I marched because THIS is not normal.
Today I marched because women’s rights are human rights, because black lives matter, because love is love, because no human is “illegal.”
Today I marched and I will continue to march to ensure that our rights and freedoms remain ours.
