This might just be one of the toughest hikes I’ve ever done. I’ve visited Oahu many times and I’ve always been daunted by Koko Head. It boasts 1,048 steps and an insane incline. This last trip I told myself I had to do it and I’m so glad I did. The views from the top are amazing. The steps were originally built as a railway to help transport military materials up to the lookout on the top of the mountain. Now, they’re just an amazing workout. As you can see from the photos ya girl was glistening. I mean I was sweating like I’ve never sweat before. Shout out to all the girls out there who can still look put together while working out. I for one, am not one of them. I had to take several pauses going up, but once you get to the top and see that view you get swept away. This is one of the few hikes where going down is just as hard as going up. The steps are steep and the decline is tough. Although this is a difficult hike I think it’s worth giving a try regardless of your difficulty level. You can take it slow if you need to. Now if you’re scared of heights, you should maybe avoid it. Otherwise, lace up and get climbing.
