A couple weekends ago I got the chance to hit up the first annual ComplexCon. I’m not even going to lie, when it was first announced I was super excited, but with Kanye getting replaced as a headliner and Kid Cudi going to rehab I waited until the week of to buy my ticket. Despite all the changes, it was well worth it.
Anyone who follows Complex Mag knows that they’re at the center of pop culture. Fashion, music, art, you name it. ComplexCon was no different. I mean, where else can you shop your favorite brands under one roof? Walk alongside legends like Pharrell and Kid Cudi? Get a glimpse at the humans behind the memes (I’m looking at you Fat Jewish)? Or watch Snoop perform in the LBC!? The whole weekend was not real life, but also 100% real.
Between watching an emotional comeback from Kid Cudi or just being in an atmosphere full of like minded people I’m really not sure what the best part of the weekend was (that’s a joke, Kid Cudi was DEFINITELY the best part of the weekend lol). Being there for the first time felt weirdly nostalgic. It brought back memories of going to Commonwealth in VA in high school, or missing school to go see Pharrell and Kanye perform on Good Morning America. It really just brought out all the feels. ComplexCon made me feel more like myself than I have in a long time or to simply put it, reminded me of who I always have been.

One of the funnest parts of the weekend was Pintrill’s #GoodTrillHunting Scavenger hunt. I ended up leave the convention with 10+ free pins especially made for ComplexCon.
RSVP Gallery had one of the coolest booth set-ups. Although, cars in booths at ComplexCon could’ve been a Tumblr… there were so many.

Jason Markk brought out the classics.
I can’t wait to do it all again next year.
