One the eve of International Women’s Day I headed out to a special NikeWomen Nike Training Club to kick-off the girl power celebrations. It’s been a while since I did any bootcamp-y interval training. I was a little nervous about how intense the night would go, but I was ready to push myself. When I got there I ran into a familiar face, Tai of Purpl Goat (creator of a non-toxic artisan crafted cosmetic line), and some super enthusiastic Nike trainers. We all corralled in a huge soundstage at Quixote Studios where they had small exhibits set-up, photo booths etc. When the workout actually started it was as intense as I imagined it would be, but it felt amazing to do. Three Nike Trainers led us through high-intensity interval workouts that worked everything from our arms to legs to abs. The atmosphere was super uplifting and motivating. There’s something about being surrounded by bad ass females that will push you to do even more than you thought possible.
The night ended with a session led by Motivational Coach Angela Davis who might be one of the most motivational people on the damn planet. Her message was inspiring, uplifting, and really struck a chord deep down inside. She stressed the importance of our dreams, of our power as women, and confidence. She told us that every single one of us was meant to be there that night and to hear that message for a greater higher reason and I truly felt that. The night ended with a goody bag and a restored motivation to get out there and do the damn thing every single day.
Thank you Nike for always inspiring me to be my best self.
