So you wanna start a pin collection? Whether you just started or are looking to start, it’s not too late to get in the pin game. I’m breaking down all my favorite places and spaces to get ’em. I started my collection at the end of 2015 and people always ask me where I get all of mine so needless to say, this post is long overdue! Before we jump into it, here’s a little photo timeline of my pin collection.
L.A. Pin Shops
If you live in L.A. or any other major city, you can find pins all around. Below are some local shops that sell pins. Feel free to comment with your favorite places!
Alchemy Works: 826 E 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90013
East West Shop: 727 N Broadway #115, Los Angeles, CA 90012
Pygmy Hippo Shoppe: 306 N Stanley Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036
Shout and About: 1547 Echo Park Ave, Los Angeles, CA
Sometime you just have to order pins online. Here are some awesome online shops with equally great Instagram profiles.
@BigBudPress You may have seen Big Bud Press’ sold out bomber jacket collab with Nasty Gal. Every now and then BBP will sell mystery pin packs (5 pins for $25), which is a super great way to start your collection. Be sure to follow her to stay up to date on the next mystery sale.
@_gabriella_sanchez Gabriella is a rad local L.A. artist and friend of mine who has worked with the likes of Bando and many others. She’s also the creator of one of my favorite pins, a birth control dial in support of standing with Planned Parenthood.
@GreenwichLetterPress Pizza. Ice Cream. Sriracha. Enough Said. Basically all the food pins I own are by Greenwich.
@Pintrill You can find just about everything on Pintrill. Franco and I have a puzzle piece from their Valentine’s Day collection.
@Rosehoundapparel Kind of smells like young adult angst.
@ShopBando Bando houses a ton of awesome different artists, a few which are on this list. There’s a good chance you’ll find what you’re looking for there.
@ShopFreeRadicals The brand that makes one of my favorite pins ever, the “breather” inhaler. S/O to my fellow asthmatics.
@TheGoodTwinCo I got my first pin from Good Twin at the Renegade Craft Fair in DTLA. They have some super cute city and zodiac inspired pins.
@ValleyCruisePress If you’re California Dreaming, Valley Cruise Press has got your back.
*Pro-Tip: If you’re going to see Beyonce this year during her Formation World Tour, don’t forget to pick up one of four tour pins. They’re only $5!
