Never in a million years did I think that I’d end up in a running photoshoot of all things and well, here I am. I had the pleasure and honor of shooting with Hoka for their Spring 2018 Fly LookBook and it was without a doubt one of the coolest experiences. Before committing to participating I was a little apprehensive to say the least. I’m naturally pretty shy and the thought of being in a photoshoot seemed daunting. On top of that, my psoriasis was flaring up. I was just a whole mess. I mean, let’s be real here, I’ve never considered myself to be a model. I’m just a girl who likes to take pictures of her outfits and share them with all of you. lol. Despite all that, I put my hesitations aside and did it flaws and all. Everything ended up turning out amazing! Things like this are never as scary as you make them out to be. Once I was on set I realized that. Everyone was super sweet and everything felt so natural.
Now, on to the product side. First and foremost, don’t sleep on the Hoka Cavu. As a casual runner these Hoka’s are perfect for getting the job done. They’re an all around neutral ride and come in some dope complimentary colorways.
Kanye said it best when he said, “Believe in your flyness, conquer your shyness.” If there’s one thing I learned from this experience it’s that allowing yourself to be put in creatively vulnerable positions, will only ever help you grow. Oh and above all — love yourself, believe in yourself, and always be your biggest champion.
